1/28 Capt. Scott Finds Cod on “Iron-Clam” Snug Harbor, RI

Today we had a sold out crowd of die-hard fishermen excited to wet the lines. You could hear the roar of the surf as we got ready to depart this morning. The morning was quite nautical as we had expected but by late morning the wind flopped out. We had a huge ground swell to contend with and dealt with the adverse conditions. Surprisingly today the jigs out produced the fresh skimmers.  We anchored and chummed, heavy shell bait and even drifted later in the morning and early afternoon. We only caught 1 cod on bait today all the rest took to the jig.

Here are some highlights of today’s trip…

Luke from money earning, Mount Vernon had 6 keepers,

Toshi from Boston took the pool with a 14 pounder.

At days end we had 30 keeper

cod for the boat and although it was by no means a good day there was very promising signs of improvement with lots of bait and fish readings.

At the moment we are looking to sail tomorrow Monday, January 29. If you are interested in fishing tomorrow please book your tickets online at
