1/2 Slow Grind on Cod Grounds…Island Current III…Snug Harbor RI Captain Scott reported a slow grind on the codfish grounds this Monday. The boat had a very large crowd of anglers and regardless of the effort from the captain and crew the bite just never developed. The conditions were ideal for drifting and every drift produced
some fish but definitely not the quantity needed to please the large crowd on board.
There will be no trip this Wednesday due to the heavy southerly wind and high sea conditions. We will be monitoring the forecast for Thursday as well but at the moment it is not looking very good.
The extended forecast for Friday Saturday and Sunday so far appears to be excellent and the island current will be leaving at 5 AM for winter codfish.
