12/11 Cod Crush aboard Island Current III…Capt. Scott Finds Mother Load; Snug Harbor, RIThis morning Captain Scott and crew were greeted by a bountiful turnout of anglers ready to take advantage of the great cod fishing as well as the splendid weather conditions. The morning action was fast and furious as both diamond jigging and baiting were instantly productive. Things started to slow down by around 10:30 AM and Captain Scott then decided to try an area to the south which paid off big time. Well the fish in this particular area where all large aggressive COD choking up Herring and mackerel. There were 20 fish over the 20 pound mark and pool fish was weighed in at 27 pounds caught by Scott Dell Ferraro from Glen Cove, Long Island. Scott and his buddy combined for 32 cod ORL, John lefty had 16 ORL, Javier from Mount Vernon New York also had his limit, and party boat regular is Jeff and Karen also had their limit of cod. Today was a full boat limit for cod and black Seabass for all on board!
We will not be sailing Monday due to the Gale wind and High Sea advisory; however, we are trying to sail the next available day whether conditions prevail.
