50/50 Blackfish Aboard Island Current III…Snug Harbor, RICaptain Scott was very happy to report a solid day of black fishing for a full boat crew aboard the 50-50 blackfish challenge. The morning bite was very slow as conditions were not very favorable. However, Captain Scott and the crew did manage to put it together on the last two drops of the day and he put it together in a big way!
Congratulations to Ronnie from the white crab Brooklyn crew who won the 50-50 pool with an 11 lbs. 12 oz. $2600 pool fish! Other notable catches included island current regular, Eric Anderson from Connecticut catching 12 only retaining his limit and Auggie who put on a show catching 11 keepers only retaining his limit. For the sold out boat, there was an approximate half a boat…full boat limit of tog! Captain Scott had mentioned there was approximately a dozen fish in the 8 pound category.
