Today, 2/15 we had both the ISLAND CURRENT II & ISLAND CURRENT III o on the codfish grounds. We left at 2 AM for the pre-dawn bite that never materialized today. Ca. James reported good readings of bait concentrations and cod; however, the fish would not turn on. There were a few fish that came up at dawn and then we headed to the east and covered lots of ground pting together the best catch we could. We had some quailty fish today which consisted of red hake, white hake, cod, and pollock.
Ca. Brendan was at the helm of the IC2 and reported similar results with just a slow pick of fish tougho the day. At times, a flurry of cod would be caught b they never p the “feed bag-on.” Ca. Brendan commented on the hard efforts of the anglers staying at the railing and pting in the overtime to p a catch together for Bob`s private charter. The weather was beaiful, the bait was a fresh as it gets, the fish were there b they just didn`t chew today.
