Wednesday, April 6th Capt. Scott report another stellar day of mild spring Codfishing. We were very fortunate to fish with a corporate private charter yesterday from New Jersey. The small group easily had there limit of green cod.
It was an interesting morning as the first few hours were very dismal and the group was beginning to wonder if this biomass of cod had moved out. Well the heavy reading of fish started to appear and each drift soon got better n better. While the fishing was not as super as our previous trip the fishing could still be described as excellent.
Joe and his crew from New Jersey walked away with a full limit of cod. In addition, our long time friend Mr. Charles Brooke’s was out and also had his limit of rod bending spring cod. Pool fish was 16 pounds.
We want to apologize to our loyal patrons who couldn’t sail with us yesterday because of the private charter which was booked months in advance.
Looking ahead, it seems as though the weekend weather looks wonderful for both Saturday and Sunday. We look forward to sailing both days as our Rhode Island season will be coming to an end as we need to get the ISLAND CURRENT III back to New York for its contracted charters.
If you are interested in sailing this Saturday, 4/9 & Sunday, 4/10, or next week it is imperative to make a reservation. This can be done several different ways. Tickets can be purchased through Zerve either online or by calling the office or texting captain Chris directly at 917.417.7557.
We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!
