Monday, 1/9 Slow Cod Bite…Island Current III…Snug Harbor, RICaptain Scott reported a tough morning on the codfish grounds. The wind was still howling and the seas were very rough making it impossible to drift. The water temperature dropped 4° from the previous trip on Saturday. After bouncing around a good portion of the day Captain Scott ran a little further to the east and found a slow pic. Later in the afternoon the seas laid down making drifting possible. We put in some overtime and managed to put a catch together later in the day. Hi hook today was four keepers and the runner-up was John lefty from Queens, New York with three keepers.
