Snug Harbor, Rhode Island
Capt. Scott & 1st mate Capt. Pete had our last codfish charter on Monday, 3/22. The weather was picture perfect with barely any wind and mirror like calm seas. The fishing was a steady pick with several areas producing fish. Hi-hook was 7 keepers for Jimmy from NJ and following close behind him was NJ legend Ray Burke from the charter boat Mad Gaffer. Pool fish hit the scales at 12 pounds. We were happy to get out on Monday and end our Rhode Island cod season with the rods bending.
The Island Current III is back in its New York berth ready to start our NY SEASON on Saturday, April 3rd at 8 am. We would like to thank all of our patrons for an extremely productive blackfish season and for those who joined us for the winter codfishing season. A big shout out to Elisa & Matt from Snug Harbor Marina for always being there with quality tackle, bait and fuel. We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall for our October 15th start date to the fall blackfish season.
