Today, Tuesday, 12/27 we had both the ISLAND CURRENT II & ISLAND CURRENT III o on the COD grounds. We had an amazing group of fisherman today from various states. Our NJ crew, consisting of some of the top fisherman, p on a solid catch of cod together working the “IRON CLAM.” Hi-Hook on the COD was lead by Barry Y., from Belmar, NJ. Runner up on the COD was BK with 8 beaiful green COD.
Conditions were less than ideal and the drift started getting too fast. We then worked another area to the west on anchor and started catching pollack. Pool fish was caught by John from NY weighing in at 24 pounds. Long time regular Tom W. from Suffern, NY also managed to bag two nice pollack in the 20 pound class. There were 7 quailty pollack caught today. In addition full boat limits with Jumbo Sea Bass & Goliath Porgies were also enjoyed by everyone. A good number of red hake were also mixed into the fine catch. Ca. Scott said, “It was a great day of catching and a large concentration of herring and mackerel moved into the area!”
Ca. Brendan had the 50` ISLAND CURRENT II for Timmy C. from Flushing, Queens. The group had an excellent day of mixed bag fishing and the entire group was very pleased with the steady action of all quality fish.
