Tues, 1/17 Solid Codfishing Aboard Island Current III…Bait & Jigging Captain Scott was happy to report yet another very solid day of winter cod fishing. The beautiful weather conditions and good fishing brought out a nice crowd of enthusiastic cod fishermen. The morning conditions allowed for drifting in which the boat picked away very nicely. Captain Scott then anchored up on a large school of feeding cod that chewed for approximately 3 1/2 hours while at anchor.
Some highlights for today included the following: Captain Rob from Howard Beach had 12 keepers orl and also took home the pool with a 14 1/2 pound cod for the second day in a row…Angel from Bronx, New York had 12 ORL, Ted and cirlo had a combined total for 23 keepers ORL, and Robert from Brooklyn had 13 ORL.
Please note that we will not be sailing this Wednesday, January 18 due to Highwinds and rough seas. We will resume sailing Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 5 AM for winter cod fishing.
