1/21 Saturday Codfishing Slow Day on Island Current III…Snug Harbor, RI Capt. Scott called in to report a very slow day on the cod grounds. The boat had a great bunch of passengers today for the sold out crowd. There was no morning bite on the drift as the past two days were terrific. We had made a number of drifts in various areas to no avail.
The only plus today was the fish that were caught at the anchor. They were all nice market cod and there were several nice pollock brought to the gaff.
Tomorrow, we plan on doing some further exploring. Everyday is a new day and we are going to fish hard again tomorrow.
Tomorrow, we will be departing at 5 am for cod. There is plenty of room and this looks like the last fishable day as the Monday thru Wednesday forecast does not look too promising.
