Today, Sunday, 1/13/13 first mate Luca called in to report a very good day of winter codfishing on the 50` ISLAND CURRENT II, Limited Load excursion. He described the fishing as very good with most guys catching 6 to 8 nice green codfish apiece along with some anglers catching their limits. Most of the fish were caught on FRESH skimmers both at anchor and on the drift. Some notle codfish catched on the limited load included RI local Thomas M., and CT residents Matt R. & Richard B.
The 76` ISLAND CURRENT III was skippered by Ca. Scott with a wonderful group of anglers. There was plenty of room oard the open boat which allowed anglers to load up on some fantastic green “winter-kings.” Ca. Scott also mentioned that he was catching both on the drift and at anchor. Some very impressive catches included some long time regulars Erik J. and his girlfriend, Aaron S., Matt & Joellen with full boat limits. Eben Y. made the boat early this morning and p together a wonderful catch and a pleasure to have him oard.
The next few days the weather looks very nice and fishle including Mon., Tues., & Wed. Both of the vessels will be ready to sail at 5 am for winter cod. We have plenty of room on the open boat oard the 76` ISLAND CURRENT III with no crowding and our limited load boat the 50` ISLAND CURRENT II has plenty of room the next two days.
