Today, 2/22 Ca. Scott was at the helm of the 76` ISLAND CURRENT III. We departed SNUG HARBOR MARINA at 2 AM heading o to the codfish grounds. Ca. Scott commented on the noticele improvement from the week before. There seems to be a large body of new green cod that moved into the area. There were lots of sub legal cod caught today and carefully released to swim free. The day consisted of te drops with every drop producing fish. Here are some of the notle catches for today`s codfish safari: Freddy Fish from the Bronx with 12 (orl), Grizzly and company had 27 keeper codfish, Paul D from MA took the pool with a 17 pounder and caught 11 for the day. (Orl), Mark K and Mike L had a combined 23 keepers for the day (orl). At the last drop of the day there were some nice pollock caught and quailty ling showing up as a bycatch. It was very nice to get off the dock as the weather has been so unsteady. The forecast for tomorrow Sat., Feb., 23rd looks very good and we will be sailing with both the `50 IC2 & 76` IC3. There is plenty of space oard the 76` ISLAND CURRENT III! So please feel free to just come down and pay oard the boat.
