Today, Wednesday, 3/14 we had both boats o and in search of COD.
We were pleasantly surprised by the enthusiastic codfish turno this morning. Ca. James had a great group of guys from RI and as far soh as Maryland. The Ca. made his first set in the AM and had a pick of cod fish. With the large crowd the Ca. made a “Big League” gamble and did some exploring. The move paid off very well as there was a good showing of quailty CODFISH, White Hake, & a biomass of LING. Today, all mates were in the fillet mode well after the boat hit the dock. Overall, an excellent day of catching and unbelievle weather.
We had a last mine charter oard the 50` ISLAND CURRENT II for a great group of guys from the FDNY. They also invited the few people oard their charter that were booked oard the LIMITED LOAD trip. Thanks for being so accommodating guys. The fishing, however; was another story and was an extremely tough pick of fish. Anchored up and tried drifting all resulting the the same dismal results. Still a beaiful day on the water with some quality cod and ling mixing in tougho the day.
